Grief Support

GRIEF SUPPORT GROUP

Our group meets in the Parlor every Sunday at 2:00 pm.

This Grief Support Group is an ongoing “open format” type of group which is open to every adult who has experienced the loss of a loved one. It gives everyone the opportunity to share their feelings. Meetings are led by individuals, who have grieved and may still be grieving the loss of a loved one. We do not advise or counsel, we just listen and share our grief experiences.

What to expect. We introduce ourselves and talk about how we coped during the week. The facilitator may read an article about dealing with grief or suggest a topic to discuss. Each individual may share any feelings, experiences or memories they feel comfortable in sharing. Sometimes, they may not feel like sharing or talking. That’s OK! No one offers advice or tells you how you should be grieving. Everyone is given the opportunity to talk without interruption. We end our meeting by joining hands and saying The Lord’s Prayer. No group or counselor can make grief disappear, but sharing helps to lessen the pain.
